Upcoming Changes to Modded Cluster

Greetings and I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. As we move into the new year we are taking a look at the feedback provided throughout the past year and making some adjustments.

We will be heavily invested in the first few months on getting our modded cluster back on track and more inline with the play experience we have on crossplay. As many of you know, most of our administrative efforts have been spent on the crossplay cluster during the past year. As such, many QOL changes, features, and settings have been altered for a better play through experience are absent on the modded cluster.

In the upcoming month we will be correcting the gap between crossplay and modded by applying changes to the modded cluster. The number one complaint from players we took last year was the load times for modded were outrageous, so much so some were forced to play on crossplay cluster due to timeouts. After reevaluating the mod set, we came to the conclusion that a lot are redundant and/or have a plugin alternative that can run server side. Listed below are the mods that will be removed:

  1. Leathals Reusables – will be replaced with a plugin: https://arkserverapi.com/index.php?resources/kals-reusables.207/
  2. ecoTREES Lite – wont be replaced.
  3. ecos TEK decor – wont be replaced.
  4. Simple Spawners – wont be replaced.
  5. HG Stacking Mod – replaced with vanilla stacking with config. Will boost weight stats for players/dinos to compensate for the weight reduction it provided.
  6. Editable Server UI (WBUI) Open Source – redundant with auto messages and /help menu.
  7. DinoTracker – Already Gone.
  8. TC Auto Rewards – Will replace with /shop and UI mod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGAoqlk1ozk

We will be completing these changes in phases with timeframes on the changes to give players a better heads up so things can be moved to avoid losses from mods that are being removed.

PHASE 1: Leathals Reusables, ecoTREES Lite, eco TEK decor, Editable Server UI. – these are minimal player impact mods and players will have 2 weeks from now (01/17/2021) to remove the assets the mods provide.

PHASE 2: HG Stacking Mod. – This is a big one. Once a stacking mod is removed, all existing resource stacks made will vanish. There is a way around this however with dedicated storages. For those that are unfamiliar, they are a tek based storage that allows players to deposit resources of a set type into a “cloud”. We encourage players to craft these and deposit all resources in them before the stack mod is removed. We will be removing this mod on (01/24/2021) so it will need to be done prior to this date. If you arent in a position to craft these dedicated storage, no need to worry, our administrators will help you out by gifting you as many as you need. PHASE 3: TC Auto Rewards – This is probably the second biggest (not for players but administratively) to change. We will need to verify point balances, etc to convert them to the shop currency the new plugin uses. We encourage if possible for players to use up their existing arc balances (if possible) prior to this mods removal which will be on (01/31/2021).
